Uncharted Visualization Tools Illuminate Dark Web Search Tech

TellFinder and Salt bring "slick" interfaces to hard search problems

Reporting on the release of a suite of open source tools designed to significantly improve “dark web” searches, Forbes highlights two key Uncharted technologies, TellFinder and Aperture Tiles, the original research project from which Salt was developed. Commenting on the user interfaces developed by Uncharted and other contributors to the suite of tools, DARPA Program Manager Christopher White is quoted as saying:

They’re very good at making things look slick and shiny. Processing and displaying information is really hard and quite subjective.
